Hello everyone!
Today will be pretty active in terms of the weather as a low pressure system moves up the coast. Thankfully for our area, it’s a pretty straightforward forecast as cold air is so deeply entrenched we see all snow.
Timing
Snow is already starting across far southern areas and will continue to move north this morning. All coastal and adjacent inland areas will be seeing snow by between 9 and 10 this morning. Heavy snow will quickly work its way into the region this afternoon with the peak hours being 2-9PM. Snow begins to lighten up this evening and will be gone by midnight.
Amounts
A very tight cutoff will be in effect for snow totals today as traveling just a few miles NW could result in a significant drop in totals. Right now, coastal areas look to see the most snow as mixing will not be a factor.
The storm will clear out tonight with gusty NW winds bringing colder air back into the region under clearing skies tomorrow.
