Hello everyone!
Today will feature clear skies and seasonably mild temperatures as high pressure builds in from the west. Northwesterly breezes are ongoing this morning, but will shift to the west and taper off a bit towards midday as high pressure moves overhead . Clear skies will promote strong daytime heating despite the cold air advection, and highs are likely to range from around 40 in the north to around 50 in the south . A sea breeze will try to develop this afternoon, but will be held at bay by large-scale westerly breezes . Only the immediate coastlines are likely to notice a cooldown .
As a quick side note, I will be giving a talk at the Yarmouth Historical Society this afternoon at 2 PM. I’ll be discussing Maine weather, what makes it special, and how you can help people like me predict it better. I’ll also talk a little bit about who I am and how I got to be where I am today. Stop by and say hi if you’re around!

Hello everyone!
Today will feature weather that includes several elements right from the early spring in Maine textbooks. We’ll start off with dense fog and areas of drizzle this morning , in addition to a cool SE wind off the ocean. Areas of rain will move through later in the morning as a cold front approaches . After the front passes, winds will shift to the northwest and we’ll see to what extent downsloping is able to clear out parts of the coastal plain. If we do get some sunshine, temps will be able to make a run into the mid 50’s. If not, we’ll likely stay limited to the upper 40’s as turbulence associated with the front mixes down some warmer air from aloft, but the effects of daytime heating are limited.

Hello everyone!
Today will feature mild temps and increasing clouds as a storm system slowly moves in our direction from the SW. Highs will range from the mid 40’s in the north to the mid 50’s in the south . A weak sea breeze may make another appearance today with cooler temps for the immediate coastline. Sunny skies this morning will give way to afternoon cloudiness as that storm system moves slowly closer to our area. Light to moderate rain will arrive in the area this evening, and precipitation should remain all rain except perhaps for some of the high peaks in the far NW of ME. Rain will continue through tonight and into tomorrow , with fog developing in areas that are still clinging to some snowpack.

Hello everyone!
Today will feature an improving trend in weather conditions as we move from overcast skies, near-freezing temps, and light wintry precipitation this morning to partly cloudy skies, dry conditions, and temps in the 40’s to low 50’s this afternoon. A weak disturbance is moving through aloft , and as a result light wintry precipitation has developed especially in the mountains this morning . Little to no accumulation of any sort is expected from this precip, but it hardly takes any sleet/freezing rain to make for some slick spots on the roads so watch for those as you head into work/school this morning. There’s plenty of dry air near the surface , so as this precip tries to move out of the mountains, much of it is evaporating. It’s possible some coastal areas may remain mostly dry through this little event due to that dry air. Either way, any remaining precip moves out midmorning with partial clearing developing downwind of the mountains this afternoon . Highs will range from the upper 30’s north to the low 50’s south .

Hello everyone!
Today will feature seasonable temps and increasing clouds as a weak front approaches from the west. Look for sunshine this morning to fade to cloudiness by the late afternoon/evening , though very little if any precipitation is expected. Highs will remain on the cooler side of average, but not by much, with temps ranging from 32 in the mountains to 40 in the south . Some very light/spotty snow, sleet, and freezing rain is possible tonight/early tomorrow morning as the front moves closer, but it’s such a weak system that not everyone will see precip. However, it doesn’t take very much mixed precip to make roads slick, so watch for that on the drive in tomorrow morning.

Hello everyone!
Today will feature seasonably cool temps and generally quiet weather as Polar high pressure builds in from the north. Highs will range from around 30 in the mountains to around 40 along the southern coast . Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds with no precipitation expected . Northeasterly breezes this morning will calm this afternoon as high pressure builds in .

Hello everyone!
Today will feature another seasonable early spring day as various upper level disturbances zoom around an upper level trough located overhead. Morning skies will be sunny , which will let temps warm up into the 30’s for much of the area , with a few southern locales seeing some low 40’s as northwesterly breezes add some downsloping influence. These warm surface temperatures will develop under cold air aloft , which will set up some instability in the atmosphere. The main result of this will be increased cloudiness, but some of those clouds could drop some raindrops or snowflakes this afternoon . No impacts of significance are expected.

Hello everyone!
Snow is ongoing along the immediate coastline this morning, generally east of the Turnpike as expected. Look for flakes to continue to fly in these areas through the early afternoon hours , but as temps slowly rise into the mid 30’s outside of the mountains , don’t expect much in the way of accumulations. Most treated roads should remain wet, though as always watch for a few slick spots here and there. Snow departs this afternoon as a disorganized storm system lumbers eastward towards Nova Scotia. As that system moves out, look for some clearing to develop, especially across NH where NNW winds will feature more of a downsloping component than areas farther east.

Hello everyone!
We’re sitting on the far northern fringe of a developing Nor’easter this morning, and we’ll stay on the fringe of this system through the day tomorrow. The result will be cold and cloudy weather, as cold/dry air flows south out of Canada towards the storm. Highs today will sit within a few degrees of freezing across the area , and NNE breezes will pick up enough to things feel noticeably chilly. Overcast skies will further enhance the cold feeling  today, though any snow from the storm will wait to move into extreme southeast parts of NH until this evening . Snow will try to nose farther northwest tonight as the storm develops , but given the very dry airmass in place in the low levels , I’m skeptical that it will make much if any progress in that direction. Due to the dry air, accumulations will be limited to areas east of the Turnpike, where 1-3″ is expected. The only exception to this map be areas near Rockland and far SE NH where 4 or 5″ could fall depending on if any heavier banding can drift onshore.

Hello everyone!
Today will feature another cool day across the region as high pressure anchored in Canada has control of our weather. Look for highs ranging from the mid 20’s up north to the mid 30’s along the southern coastline . Skies will begin the day mostly sunny , but by the afternoon and evening hours, clouds will begin to increase as a storm system begins to organize off the Mid Atlantic coastline. This storm will intensify offshore tomorrow, and brush our area with some light snow tomorrow night into Thursday morning .
