I’m a third-year atmospheric science student at Cornell University who has been blogging about the weather since 2011. While I’m not officially a meteorologist, I have accumulated a bit of experience forecasting both local weather (in western Maine and New Hampshire) as well as national/international weather during my time writing for weather.us and weathermodels.com. I also have experience programming in Python, teaching concepts in weather forecasting, and communicating forecast information to general audiences.

More clouds than sun today

Today will feature more clouds than usual thanks to a departing weak cold front. Weak high pressure will improve conditions later as it slides south.

Showers to bring heavy rains, high winds

A powerful cold front will touch off a line of showers and thunderstorms across the region this evening onto tonight. This line is capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 50mph especially over western regions of Maine and New Hampshire.

Showers start to approach today

There will, for the first time in over a week, be a chance of rain today. There are showers approaching from the west over NY and MA and these will continue to move eastward. Not everyone will receive a shower, but clouds will be prominent nonetheless.

Great weather continues

Our stretch of great weather continues as the Bermuda High is in control of our weather. Things will heat up today as a cold front approaches. However, the passage of the cold front will merely be a reduction of clouds and a change in dew points.

Enjoy!
