Another Mild And Calm Day Today

Hello everyone!

Today will feature partly to mostly sunny skies along with mild temps and dry conditions. Skies will be sunniest in the north where folks will be farther away from an ocean storm zooming by well to our south. Temps will sit a few degrees on either side of 70 with slightly cooler temps along the coast. No precip is expected as low pressure stays well to our south.

Drier With Breaks Of Sun Today

Hello everyone!

Today will feature a cloudy and foggy start giving way to a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon. Look for this filtered sunshine to bring temps up into the 70’s for much of the area with the mountains being limited to 60’s. Clouds and fog will once again build in this evening/tonight as another storm system moves by to our south.

A Rainy Week Begins

Hello everyone!

Today will feature the opening round in a series of rainy days this week as we have a mini-pattern set up. Look for cloudy skies and two rounds of showers, one in the morning and one in the evening. Temps will remain stuck in the low to mid 50’s. Drizzle is possible this afternoon along the coast during the break between showers.

We get some more sun tomorrow before another couple of days of rain. Thankfully, it looks like this pattern will only last but a week before we resume our regularly scheduled baking.

Another Cool And Clear Day

Hello everyone!

Today will feature mainly sunny skies, cool temps, and light winds. It’s yesterday all over again! Temps will top out in the mid to upper 60’s in the mountains and along the coast while inland areas see highs in the low 70’s. Skies will begin clear but clouds will slowly begin to filter in this evening as low pressure drifts in our direction.

Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Cold Front Day!

Hello everyone!

It’s cold front day! Yesterday’s oppressive heat is on its way out the door and will be replaced by a cool and dry breeze from Canada. The front is currently in the St Lawrence valley and will cross the area from 8 AM to noon from NW to SE. A quick shower is possible along the leading edge of the cooler air but the front will pass through too early in the day for any severe weather. Temps will rise into the 70’s this morning before falling this afternoon as NW winds bring in cooler air. Those winds will be gusty at times.

Heating Up Today

Hello everyone!

While yesterday was lovely in terms of sunshine and warm temps, we’re about to start taking that a little too far. SW winds will fire up today bringing much warmer temps into the region. Look for highs in the 80’s for most with a few upper 70’s along the coast and up in the mountains. Skies will be clear and dry as high pressure exerts its influence.

Record heat is possible for many areas tomorrow before a cold front restores order Friday.

Pattern Change

Hello everyone!

We’ve finally done it! The cool and wet pattern from the past couple weeks is now gone, replaced by warm temps and sunny skies, starting today. Look for highs ranging through the 70’s today under full sun. Temps will rise into the 90’s by Thursday before a strong cold front brings temps back to the 60’s for the weekend.

Starting The Warming And Drying

Hello everyone!

Today will feature the beginnings of a four-day warming and drying process as the pattern changes. Today will feature lots of clouds, at least to start off, as well as cool temps. NW winds will crank up this morning and may bring enough downsloping to clear out parts of the coast but most of us will remain under the clouds as well as showers today as our low pressure system stalls out just to the east. NW winds will be very gusty with gusts to 40mph expected. Showers that are widespread this morning will become confined to the mountains by this afternoon as temps rise into the 50’s for most, low 60’s at the coast.

This week will feature progressively warmer, sunnier, and drier weather culminating with 90 degree nastiness on Thursday. A cold front will bring back some more reasonable temps for the weekend under full sun.

A special note, today brings the launch of a website I’ve been working on, weather.us. The launch is today at noon and you’ll be able to find an abundance of free weather data. Starting in the next couple of weeks, I’ll also be posting info on that site regarding weather all across America, from sea to shining sea. Be sure to check it out this afternoon!

A Cold Rain Today

Hello everyone!

Today will feature cool temps, cloudy skies, and rain as a nor’easter slides by offshore. Look for the heavy rain to be across SW ME and NH this morning before pivoting NE through this afternoon. Temps will be cold enough at elevation so that snow will be falling. Amounts of 4-8″ are likely to be widespread above 2,500 feet or so with peaks over 4,000 feet likely seeing near a foot of snow before it’s all over. For the rest of us, 1-3″ of plain old rain can be expected. Temps will range from the 30’s north to the low 40’s south.

Still Cool, Still Cloudy, Still Mostly Dry

Hello everyone!

Today will feature… more of the same! Clouds will be overspreading the region this morning as our next storm system develops off the Mid Atlantic coast today. This will arrive in our area as a nor’easter late tonight and into tomorrow morning when heavy rain and gusty winds can be expected. In the higher elevations such as Mt. Washington, up to a foot of snow will be possible! Look for onshore winds to pick up today bringing in cool air as well as marine drizzle/fog. Temps will remain stuck near the 50 degree mark for most of the region with some NE areas seeing temps near 60 due to more sun this morning.
