Today will feature mainly cloudy skies and rain showers this morning giving way to a mix of rain and snow showers this afternoon. Temps will be falling as a cold front roars through the area. The strong language there is a nod to the strong winds that will cause temps to tumble this morning. Look for this morning’s southeasterly breezes to switch to south-westerly and increase drastically in strength. Gusts to 40 mph are likely by this evening as cold air moves rapidly in. Temps will fall from their current readings in the mid 40’s to below freezing tonight even along the coast. Rain showers will change over to snow showers from west to east this afternoon with minor accumulations expected in the mountains.
Windy conditions are likely to last for a few days as low pressure spins to our north-east.
