Today will feature warmer temps, but unfortunately with the caveat that the warmth will not primarily be driven by sunshine, which will be lacking for many areas. Early morning satellite images show clouds dominating the entire area with only a few spots along the coastal plain seeing sunshine. Here in Yarmouth, we have low level stratus moving swiftly northeast with a patchy mid level cloud deck. As the day goes on, the most likely places to see sunshine will be in the coastal plain/foothills area from Augusta SW towards Laconia. The mountains will see clouds from a weak cold front, while the coast, especially the NH Seacoast and the ME Midcoast, will see clouds from an offshore system. Highs will range from the mid 60’s in the mountains to the low 70’s along the coast. There’s a chance that parts of the NH Seacoast and parts of the mountains could see a few showers today, but mostly dry conditions are expected overall.
