Snow Changing To Rain Outside Of The Mountains Today

Hello everyone!

Today will feature snow changing to rain for areas outside of the mountains as warm air surges in from the south. Temps this morning are cold enough for flurries all the way to the coast, but expect temps outside of the mountains to quickly warm above freezing before the main round of precipitation arrives this afternoon. Once that precipitation arrives, we’ll be dealing with a tale of two storm systems across the area. In the mountains, moderate to heavy bands of snowfall will cause slick roads and low visibility. Along the coastline, southerly/southeasterly winds will gust over 40 mph as heavy rain bands rotate through. Impacts from both are expected to be moderate as snow in the mountains will be enough to cause some travel problems, but not enough for any major issues, and winds along the coast will be enough for some scattered power outages, but not enough for any widespread damage.

High temps today will range from 30 in the northern mountains to 40 along the midcoast. Rain and snow will exit the region early tomorrow morning.
