Hello everyone!

Today will feature another day of weather that belongs in April, not February. A warm front is lifting through the area this morning, and behind it temps will rise above freezing in the north and all the way to 50 in the south. This warmth will be accompanied increasing amounts of grey, both in the sky as clouds move in from the west, and on the ground as our snowpack is slowly whittled away. Most areas will stay mostly dry today, though some showers are possible in the north and mountains especially this evening.

After a chilly day yesterday, temps are headed back up today as high pressure shifts off to our southeast. Look for highs ranging from 30 in the north to 40 in SE NH. As the warm air moves in, areas of cloudiness will move through today, though no precipitation is expected.

Even warmer temps arrive tomorrow along with the increased chance for coastal rain and mountain snow showers.

Look for highs ranging from 15 in the north to 25 in the south with mostly sunny skies this morning giving way to a few more clouds in the afternoon. Hello everyone!

A cold front passed offshore very early this morning, and temps have been falling ever since. That cooling trend will continue through the day today, with morning temps near freezing in the north and around 40 in the south giving way to afternoon temps around 15 in the north and dipping below freezing in the south. Those colder temps will be moving in on NW winds, so expect an upslope/downslope pattern to develop today with more clouds than sun in the mountains and more sun than clouds along the coast. Additionally, snow showers and flurries will continue in upslope flow over the higher terrain, with dry conditions expected in downsloping areas.

Today will feature mild temperatures, spotty precipitation, and more widespread fog as warm moist air moves north over our cold snowpack. Look for highs to rise to freezing in the north and 40 in the south. More significantly, dew points will rise above freezing for the whole area today. As this moisture moves over our recently replenished snowpack, it will condense into areas of fog that could be dense at times. Precipitation will be most persistent in northern areas, closer to the front that passed through last night. Most of the precipitation falling along this front will be in the form of rain for the lower elevations, with snow limited to the higher terrain of the White Mountains.

More coastal rain arrives tomorrow, but as cold air invades the low levels inland, look for a change to freezing rain as the next round of precip arrives.

Today will feature increasing clouds as our next round of snow approaches from the west. We’ll see mostly sunny skies to start the morning, but by lunchtime we’ll rapidly be moving towards overcast. Highs today will range from 10 in the north to 25 along the coast. Snow will begin late in the evening over New Hampshire, reaching Maine shortly before midnight. Snow will continue through the early morning hours tomorrow, accumulating 1-3″ in Southern New Hampshire, 2-4″ in the foothills of NH and the coastal plain of ME, and 3-6″ in the mountains.

Yesterday afternoon’s snowfall is long gone this morning, and it will be replaced by both cooler and clearer weather today. Temps will top out around 10 in the mountains and around 20 along the coast as NW winds carry colder air into the region. Those NW winds also mean we’ll see a familiar pattern with regards to precipitation chances and sky cover as the mountains see snow showers and flurries continue in upslope flow, while the coast sees mostly sunny skies and dry conditions in downslope flow.

Our weather today will be split into two parts as dry conditions hold through the morning, and very heavy snow arrives this afternoon. Expect snow to develop from west to east around midday. Snow will be falling across NH by 11 AM and across ME by noon. It will become heavy not long after the first flakes fly, with snowfall rates reaching 2-3″ per hour by the 2-3 PM timeframe. The heavy snow will continue through the evening before tapering off from W to E between 9 and 10 PM. Precipitation types should remain all snow for most of the area, the exception being the NH seacoast, the coastline S of Portland, and the Midcoast peninsulas east of Brunswick. In these areas, look for a change to sleet/freezing rain/rain late in the afternoon as warm air attempts to surge north. 8-14″ of snow is expected for the all snow areas, with 4-8″ in the aforementioned coastal areas that will see mixing. High temps will range from 20 in the north to 35 along the parts of the coastline mentioned above.

Today’s weather will be mostly under the control of a weak upper level disturbance cruising through the area from west to east. This system will bring mostly cloudy skies to the entire area, and some snow showers are also expected for some parts of the area as it moves through. The best chance for some light snow will be in the foothills and mountains, though even the coast could see flurries. Accumulations, if they do occur, will remain less than an inch. Highs will range from the upper 10’s north to the upper 20’s south.

A much more significant snowstorm is on the way for tomorrow afternoon/evening with 8-12″ expected for the majority of the area.

Hello everyone!

Today will feature breezy conditions and falling temps as cold air moves in behind a front that passed through the region last night. Look for current temps in the 30’s to give way to 10’s by sunset. This cooling will be powered by NW winds which will gust over 30 mph at times, making the already-cool temps feel much colder by this evening. Skies will start the morning cloudy, but clearing is expected this afternoon southeast of the mountains as downsloping kicks in. In the mountains, upsloping will keep clouds and snow showers in the mix through the evening hours.
