Today’s weather across western Maine and New Hampshire can best be described as “stagnant”. We have a cool but humid and moisture-laden airmass in place, and there’s some general upward motion, but nothing very organized. As a result, we’ll look for some scattered showers, especially across southern areas, but no widespread or heavy rain. Clouds will be fairly widespread, also concentrated in the southern half of the area. Highs will be on the cooler side, especially in southern areas where we’ll have those clouds and showers, generally within a few degrees of 70. Warmer temps in the low-mid 70’s will be found farther north where breaks of sun are expected.
Quick side note: Florence is still headed for the Carolinas. While no impacts are expected here, you may have friends/family who are interested in the forecast. My thoughts on the storm can be found on the weather.us blog: https://blog.weather.us/major-hurricane-florence-set-to-arrive-in-north-carolina-tomorrow-longer-term-track-remains-uncertain/
