Cooler, Brighter, and Breezier Today

Hello everyone!

Today will feature cooler temps, brighter skies, and breezy winds as the storm that has been languishing in our vicinity since Wednesday afternoon moves off into Canada. Cooler air is moving in behind the storm, though now that we’re entering May, the chill doesn’t really have much of a sting to it anymore. Highs will range from the upper 30s up north to the low 50s along the southern coast. Morning clouds will clear out this afternoon, especially downwind of the mountains. As the sun comes up and heats the ground, the atmosphere will become configured a bit more favorably for mixing strong winds aloft down towards the surface. So expect winds to pick up through the mid-afternoon hours before slackening slightly this evening. Gusts should top out between 30 and 35 mph so while you’ll want to hold on to your hat outside, power outages should remain very widely scattered, if any occur at all.
