Today will feature an improving trend in weather conditions as we move from overcast skies, near-freezing temps, and light wintry precipitation this morning to partly cloudy skies, dry conditions, and temps in the 40’s to low 50’s this afternoon. A weak disturbance is moving through aloft, and as a result light wintry precipitation has developed especially in the mountains this morning. Little to no accumulation of any sort is expected from this precip, but it hardly takes any sleet/freezing rain to make for some slick spots on the roads so watch for those as you head into work/school this morning. There’s plenty of dry air near the surface, so as this precip tries to move out of the mountains, much of it is evaporating. It’s possible some coastal areas may remain mostly dry through this little event due to that dry air. Either way, any remaining precip moves out midmorning with partial clearing developing downwind of the mountains this afternoon. Highs will range from the upper 30’s north to the low 50’s south.
