Hello everyone!

Today will feature more or less a repeat of yesterday as another weak frontal boundary drifts in from the west. Skies are clearing out this morning, especially in southwestern Maine and New Hampshire, with lingering clouds over northern and eastern areas likely to thin out as well over the coming few hours. Daytime heating and high dew points will once again fuel thunderstorms this afternoon, initially developing in the mountains before moving towards the coastline this evening.

Storms will, as per usual for our area, pose primarily a damaging wind threat today, however a tornado can’t be ruled out due to low-level southeasterly winds that will enhance rotation in the atmosphere. The greatest threat for a brief tornado would be in the Sebago Lakes region, where terrain influences also help contribute to rotation.

Storms will slowly weaken after sunset. Highs will range from the mid 70’s north to the mid 80’s south.
