Cool temps and overcast skies will prevail today as rain overspreads the area from southwest to northeast. It’s already raining in southwestern NH, and rain should arrive in Maine a little before noon. Northeastern parts of the region will see rain by the middle part of the afternoon. That rain will be of the steadier variety, with some heavier pockets possible especially in the mountains/CT river valley. High temps will be quite cool today with cold air damming eroding very slowly. The warmest temps in southeasterly flow will be near the coast, around 60, while the mountains hang on to that cooler air with highs just shy of 50. Rain tapers off later tonight.
