Muggy Today

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately we remain trapped on the wrong side of a frontal boundary separating warm/moist air from cool/dry air. That boundary is hung up near the Canadian border this morning and will remain there through the rest of the day. South of that boundary, dense fog has formed across much of coastal Maine this morning as abundant moisture surges north. For most folks, that fog will slowly burn off this morning as the sun comes up. If you’re along the midcoast, you’ll be dealing with low clouds and/or fog for most if not all of the day. The best shot at some sunny breaks will be up in the mountains this morning and farther south in the foothills later today. NH should also see plenty of sunshine as they’re further removed from the Gulf of Maine. A few afternoon showers can’t be ruled out up in the mountains where daytime heating will support a bit more instability, but overall dry weather is expected to continue today. Highs will range from the mid 70s along the coastline and up north to the upper 80s over central NH and interior SW ME.
