Today will feature conditions that vary widely by location. SW NH will feel a lot more like August than October with highs near 80 under mainly sunny skies. Meanwhile for the rest of us, look for highs barely reaching 60 under mainly cloudy skies. The culprit is cold air damming, a phenomenon notorious for robbing our area of warmth. For more on cold air damming (with a winter focus) check out one of my old UpPortland columns. Despite all the clouds, we should stay mainly dry but I can’t rule out a morning or evening shower in the northern mountains, closer to frontal activity well to our NW.
