Today will feature warm temps and the chance for afternoon/evening showers and storms as a cold front approaches the region from the northwest. Partly cloudy skies are in place for much of the region this morning, with some parts of the mountains seeing more clouds than sun. Look for sunshine to develop in some of these areas around midday, before clouds start popping up this afternoon due to developing instability. Those clouds will begin to produce showers over the mountains after lunch. Showers will grow into storms during the mid/late afternoon hours as they move southeast towards the coast. Westerly winds will limit the influence of the marine layer today, so while storms will be weakening as they approach the shoreline, cells stand a better than usual chance of arriving at their destination intact today. Storms will move offshore this evening with dry NW flow developing behind the front. Highs will range from around 70 in the north to around 90 in the south.
