Generally Quiet Today But Clouds Return

Hello everyone!

It will be a quiet, albeit somewhat gray day here in northern New England as an elongated area of low pressure slides east to our south. The low doesn’t have a lot of northward momentum, and we’re being staunchly defended by a capable garrison of Canadian dry air. At least near the surface. Aloft, moisture is having an easier time reaching our latitude which means that clouds will be on the increase today especially in southern parts of the area. If you head farther north into a corridor extending from the Maine mountains over towards Belfast, you may actually enjoy quite a bit of sunshine today. Northwesterly breezes will continue to push drier air into the area and will help hold the afternoon sea breeze to the immediate shoreline. High temps will range from the low 50s up in the mountains and along the immediate shoreline to the upper 60s in interior southern NH.
