Mild With Precip For Some Today

Hello everyone!

Generally milder temps will continue today across the area as low pressure moves north out of the Mid Atlantic and keeps any deep cold air locked away in Canada. That low will pass fairly close by to our south, but its precipitation shield won’t necessarily make it very far north.

Some freezing rain is falling across southern NH this morning, which will continue for the next couple hours before changing to rain. Ice accretion should remain below a tenth of an inch, which won’t be enough to cause any power outage worries, but will certainly be enough to cause some slick spots out on the roads.

Rain will try to move north into Maine this afternoon, probably with minimal success. The best chance of showers will be east of the Turnpike and south of Route 1. Any coastal showers will depart this evening, potentially after mixing briefly with sleet or snow. No accumulations are expected.

The mountains will stay dry and overcast today. High temps will range from the mid 30’s in the north to the lower 40’s in the south.
